Etymology
Τσεκάρω comes directly from the English verb "check." Greek borrowed the root and attached the verb suffix -άρω, a common device for absorbing foreign verbs, seen also in παρκάρω (to park) and φρενάρω (to brake). The word entered everyday speech in the twentieth century alongside other English loanwords tied to modern administration and technology. It now functions as an ordinary, fully conjugated Greek verb.
