Etymology
تَرَك comes from the Semitic triconsonantal root t-r-k, which carries the sense of leaving, releasing, or leaving behind. The root is well attested across Arabic, including the legal noun tarika for the estate a dead person leaves. It is Semitic in origin and has no Indo-European ancestry.
