Etymology
The word comes from the Arabic triliteral root n-f-dh, which carries the idea of passing through or penetrating. In Form II the verb naffadha means to make something pass through, that is, to carry it out. تَنْفِيذ is the verbal noun of that form and names the act of putting a plan or order into effect.
