دَوَّغ is a denominal verb built from the noun دوغ (dūgh), a loanword from Persian دوغ meaning a chilled, salted yogurt drink diluted with water. Arabic dialects, especially Iraqi and Gulf varieties, regularly convert borrowed nouns into verbs using the Form II pattern فَعَّلَ, doubling the middle root letter. This produced دَوَّغ as a verb meaning to make or prepare that drink.
