Etymology
Intrare comes straight from the Latin verb intrare, meaning to enter, which itself is built on intra, an adverb meaning within or inside. Romanian kept this verb as a intra, and formed the noun intrare from its long infinitive, the same pattern used for mâncare (food, from a mânca) or plecare (departure, from a pleca). The word has survived almost unchanged since Latin, unlike many Romanian nouns that were reshaped by Slavic or other influence.
