Etymology
Romanian borrowed "ritm" from French "rythme" in the 19th century, during the wave of French loanwords that modernized Romanian vocabulary. French took it from Latin "rhythmus", which came from Greek "rhythmos", meaning measured movement or flow. The Greek word traces back to the verb "rhein", to flow.
