Ție is the stressed dative form of the second-person singular pronoun tu, roughly "to you". It descends directly from the Latin dative pronoun tibi, through the same sound changes that turned Latin mihi into Romanian mie. Romanian is unusual among the Romance languages for keeping a separate stressed dative pronoun; most of its relatives collapsed dative and accusative into one stressed form. Ție is used for emphasis or contrast, often alongside the unstressed clitic îți in the same clause.
