Etymology
مُسْتَجِدّ is the active participle of the Form X verb اسْتَجَدَّ (istajadda), built on the geminate root ج-د-د (j-d-d), which carries the sense of newness. The prefix مُسْتَ- marks Form X, a pattern often used for seeking or coming into a state, so istajadda means to arise anew or become recent. The same root gives جديد (new) and جِدّة (novelty). Arabic roots like this are native Semitic material, not derived from Indo-European.
