هُناكَ is built on the locative adverb هُنا ('here') extended by the deictic suffix ـكَ, which orients the location toward the addressee ('there, by you'). The same h-based demonstrative element appears across the Arabic deictic system (هذا 'this', هنا 'here'). Beyond its spatial sense it grammaticalized into the standard existential marker ('there is/are').
