Etymology
χρησιμοποιήσεις is the second person singular future form of χρησιμοποιώ, a compound verb built from χρήσιμος, meaning useful, and the verb ποιώ, meaning to make or do. So the verb literally means to make something useful, which in practice means to use it. The compound is a fairly late formation in Greek, common in Modern Greek but not in Ancient Greek, where the simple verb χράομαι already covered the sense of using something.
