Etymology
Conduc comes from the Latin verb conducere, meaning to bring together or to lead. That verb combined the prefix con- (together, with) and ducere (to lead, to draw). Romanian kept both the literal sense of driving a vehicle and the figurative sense of leading a group or organization.
