Etymology
Talentat is built inside Romanian from the noun talent plus the adjective-forming suffix -at, the same pattern seen in colorat (colored) or înzestrat (endowed). Talent itself came into Romanian through French from Latin talentum, a unit of weight and money, which Latin took from Greek talanton. The Greek word originally meant a scale or a weighed sum, and only later shifted to mean a natural gift, through the biblical parable of the talents.
