Veți is the second-person plural form of the Romanian future-tense auxiliary paradigm (voi, vei, va, vom, veți, vor), which is placed before an infinitive to build the future tense. It descends from the present indicative of the verb a vrea, to want; the old form vreți lost its r through frequent unstressed use and became veți. This mirrors English will, which also began as a verb meaning to want or wish and later hardened into a plain future marker.
