Word family
Etymology
Vizitez is a form of the verb a vizita, borrowed into Romanian from French visiter during the nineteenth century, when Romanian absorbed many French and Latin-based words to modernize its vocabulary. French visiter descends from Latin visitare, a frequentative form of visere, meaning to go and see. That root links back further to videre, to see.
