أَساء is the Form IV (causative) verb built on the Semitic root س و ء, which carries the core sense of badness or evil. The same root gives سَيِّئ (bad, evil) and سُوء (harm, ill). Form IV turns the basic idea of 'being bad' into a transitive act: to make something bad, that is, to do wrong or cause harm. The root is Semitic, not Indo-European, so it has no PIE ancestor.
