Etymology

بارِز comes from the Semitic root ب ر ز (b-r-z), whose core sense is to emerge, come out into the open, or stand apart from what surrounds it. بارِز is the active participle (ism al-fā'il) built on this root, so it literally names something in the state of standing out. Arabic is a Semitic language, not Indo-European, so it has no Proto-Indo-European root.
