Etymology
دَعَّم comes from the Semitic root د-ع-م (d-ʕ-m), which carries the core sense of support or propping something up. The base verb دَعَمَ (Form I) means simply to support or prop. Doubling the middle root letter produces the Form II verb دَعَّم, which intensifies the action into reinforcing or shoring something up thoroughly.
