Etymology
The root ر-ج-ع (r-j-ʿ) carries the core sense of returning or going back. Form III places this root in the فاعَل pattern, which often marks an action carried out back and forth or between two parties. That shift turns 'go back' into 'go back over something' or 'go back to consult someone', which is how راجَع comes to mean review or consult. This is a native Arabic derivation, not a loanword, so there is no Indo-European root behind it.
