رِيحwindEtymology
راحة comes from the Semitic root r-w-ḥ, which carries ideas of wind, breath, and open space. The same root gives rūḥ (spirit) and rīḥ (wind). The sense of rest grew from the notion of relief, of air and room opening up after strain.
