Etymology
صَنْع is the verbal noun of the verb صَنَعَ, to make or to craft. It comes from the Semitic triliteral root ṣ-n-ʿ, which carries the sense of skilled making and building. The same root gives صِناعة, industry, and the place name صَنْعاء, the Yemeni capital, traditionally read as a well-built town.
