Etymology

فَكّ comes from the triliteral Semitic root ف-ك-ك, whose base verb فكّ means to undo, pry apart, or set loose. As a noun it names the jaw, the part of the skull that parts to open the mouth and closes to bite. The same root also gives the verbal-noun sense of release or unfastening, as in فك الحصار, lifting a siege. Arabic roots are Semitic, not Indo-European, so no PIE root or Indo-European cognates apply here.
