Etymology
مُذْهِل is the active participle of the form IV verb أَذْهَلَ, meaning to stun or to distract. Its root, ذ-ه-ل, describes being so taken aback that you forget yourself. So something مُذْهِل makes the mind go blank with wonder. The sense shifted from causing distraction to plain astonishment.
