Etymology
مُراجَعَة is the verbal noun of راجَعَ, a Form III verb built on the Arabic root ر-ج-ع, which carries the basic sense of returning or going back. Form III often marks an action done back and forth or with another party, so راجَعَ came to mean going over something again, often together with someone else, such as a teacher or an auditor. مُراجَعَة is a native Arabic formation, not a borrowing, and its root ر-ج-ع also gives Arabic its everyday verb for 'to return'.
