نَصِيحَة comes from the triliteral Semitic root n-ṣ-ḥ, which carries the sense of sincerity and honest counsel. The base verb naṣaḥa means to advise someone with their good at heart. The noun follows the faʿīla pattern, naming a single act or piece of such counsel. The same root gives nāṣiḥ, an adviser, and naṣūḥ, sincere.
