Etymology
نَفَّذ comes from the triliteral root ن-ف-ذ, which carries the idea of passing through or penetrating. The basic Form I verb نَفَذَ means to pierce or to take effect. Doubling the middle consonant produces the Form II verb, which adds a causative sense: to make a plan pass through, that is, to carry it out. The same root gives نَافِذَة, a window, and نُفُوذ, influence.
