Etymology
The verb comes from the Semitic triliteral root h-w-n, which carries the idea of lightness and low weight. From the physical sense of being light grew the figurative senses of being easy and of being of little worth. The same root yields the adjective هَيِّن, 'easy,' and the noun هَوان, 'humiliation.'
