Etymology
Πνευματικός is built from πνεῦμα, meaning breath, wind, or spirit, plus the adjectival suffix -ικός, meaning pertaining to. Πνεῦμα itself comes from the verb πνέω, to breathe or blow. The word entered Christian usage to describe things of the spirit as opposed to the body, and Modern Greek kept that core sense while adding secular uses such as intellectual property.
