Etymology
Ποιόν is the substantivized neuter of the ancient adjective ποιός, ποιά, ποιόν, meaning "of a certain kind" or "endowed with quality." It belongs to the same interrogative-indefinite family as ποῖος ("of what kind?"). Aristotle used the neuter form as a technical term for one of his categories, quality, paired against ποσόν, quantity.
