Etymology
Aduce comes from Latin adducere, a compound of the prefix ad- (toward) and ducere (to lead). The verb passed into Romanian with its core sense intact: to lead or carry something toward a point, which narrowed to the everyday meaning of bringing. The same Latin ducere gives Romanian a duce, to carry or lead away.
