Etymology
Căsătoresc is the present-tense form of the reflexive verb a se căsători, built on the noun căsătorie, 'marriage.' Căsătorie in turn comes from casă, the Romanian word for 'house,' widened with the suffix -ătorie that also forms words like vânătorie, 'hunting,' from vâna, 'to hunt.' The underlying image is of two people setting up a household together. Romanian built this whole word family on its own native root rather than borrowing a marriage term from Latin matrimonium or from Slavic.
