Etymology
Amin entered Romanian through Church Slavonic liturgical language, which took it from Greek amín, which in turn came from Hebrew āmén, meaning "truth" or "so be it." The word travelled with Orthodox Christian worship rather than through everyday speech, which is why it kept nearly the same shape across so many languages. Romanian simply preserved the borrowed liturgical form used at the close of prayers.
