Etymology
The verb "a dansa" (to dance) entered Romanian from French "danser" during the nineteenth-century wave of Romance borrowings. Romanian then built the agent noun with its own native suffix pair -tor (masculine) and -toare (feminine), the same suffix used to turn many verbs into "one who does X" nouns. So "dansatoare" is a French verb root fitted with a Romanian ending, not a direct borrowing of a French dancer word.
