Etymology
Deschidere is the noun form of the verb a deschide, to open. That verb comes from Vulgar Latin, built from the prefix dis- and the verb claudere, to close. Romanian added an epenthetic h for pronunciation, the same pattern seen in a închide, to close, which uses the prefix in- on the same root. The noun itself is formed by attaching the suffix -re to the verb stem, a common way Romanian turns long infinitives into nouns.
