Etymology
The verb comes from Latin 'furari', to steal, itself built on the noun 'fur', thief. Romanian kept the Latin verb almost unchanged, unlike most of its Romance sisters, which built their word for stealing from other roots. The form 'fură' is simply the third-person present of this old Latin verb, and it doubles as the singular command form.
