Etymology
Obraznic comes from obraz, a noun Romanian borrowed from Slavic meaning cheek or face, joined to the adjective-forming suffix -nic. In Balkan Slavic languages obraz carries a second sense of honor or dignity, since one's face was where shame or pride showed. Obraznic originally marked someone who overstepped the respect owed to another person's face, and it settled into the modern sense of cheeky or impudent.
