Etymology

Romanian borrowed "paradis" from French "paradis", which came from Latin "paradisus". Latin took it from Greek "parádeisos", a word Greek writers used for the walled parks of Persian kings. Greek in turn borrowed it from an Old Iranian word for an enclosed garden. The Bible's use of that Greek word for the Garden of Eden gave "paradise" its modern religious sense.
