Etymology
Purta descends from the Latin verb portare, meaning to carry. Romanian kept the meaning of carrying and extended it naturally to wearing clothes and bearing a name, since all three involve holding something on or with oneself. The reflexive form a se purta shifted further, from carrying oneself to behaving in a certain way.
