Etymology
Romanian borrowed "trăda" from French "trahir" in the nineteenth century, part of a wave of French loanwords that reshaped Romanian's learned vocabulary. French "trahir" itself descends from Latin "tradere," literally "to hand over" (trans- "across" plus dare "to give"). The same Latin root gave English "traitor" and "tradition" and Italian "tradire." So "trăda" is a re-import of a word whose deep root, dare, is native Latin stock also present in older Romanian vocabulary.
