Etymology
أَرْبَع is the Arabic cardinal number four, built on the Semitic root ر-ب-ع. The same root yields رُبْع, a quarter, and رَابِع, fourth. Cognates run across the Semitic family, from Hebrew to Akkadian. The word has no link to Indo-European number words.
