Etymology
أَزال is the Form IV (causative) verb built on the Semitic root ز-و-ل, whose basic sense is to cease, decline, or go away. The base verb زالَ means to come to an end or to disappear; adding the causative prefix turns it into to make something cease, that is, to remove. The same root names noon, زَوال, the moment the sun passes its peak and begins to decline.
