Etymology
Arabic تَمّ comes from the common Semitic root t-m-m, which carries the sense of completeness and fullness. The same root appears in Hebrew, where tāmam means to be finished and tām means whole or blameless. In Arabic the verb keeps the core idea: a thing tamma when it reaches its full and final state.
