Etymology
حَذَّر comes from the Semitic root ح-ذ-ر, which carries the idea of caution and being on one's guard. It is a Form II (faʿʿala) verb, in which doubling the middle consonant turns the root's 'be wary' sense into a causative one: to make someone wary, that is, to warn. Related forms include the noun ḥadhar (caution) and the adjective ḥadhir (wary).
