Etymology
مَصْرِفِيّ is a nisba adjective built from مَصْرِف (maṣrif, 'bank'), a noun of place from the triliteral root ص-ر-ف (ṣ-r-f), meaning to turn, to exchange, or to spend. A bank was named for the place where money is turned over or exchanged. Adding the ending ـيّ turns the noun into the adjective 'of or relating to a bank.' The root is Semitic, not Indo-European, so it has no PIE ancestor.
