Etymology
مُجاوِر is the active participle of the Form III verb جاور (jāwara), "to be neighbor to, to border, to live next to," built on the triliteral root ج-و-ر. The same root gives جار (jār), the ordinary word for "neighbor," and جوار (jiwār), "vicinity" or "protection." Arabic is a Semitic language, so it has no Proto-Indo-European ancestry; any resemblance to English words is coincidental.
