Etymology
Εντύπωση is built from the prefix εν- (in) and τύπος (mark, stamp, type), the same root that gives Greek τυπώνω (to print) and, through Latin, the English word type. The idea is of a mark pressed into something, later extended in Greek to the mental mark an experience leaves on a person. Modern Greek uses it both for the physical or figurative act of impressing and for a subjective feeling or notion.
