Etymology
Καροτσάκι is the diminutive of καρότσα, the word for a cart body or wagon bed. Καρότσα in turn comes from κάρο, a cart or wagon, borrowed from Latin carrus. That Latin word came from Gaulish and ultimately from a root meaning to run or move. Greek added the diminutive suffix -άκι to give the sense of a small cart, which is now used for baby strollers, shopping carts, and even wheelchairs.
