Etymology
Προσόν is the substantivized neuter present participle of the verb πρόσειμι, itself built from the prefix πρός (toward, in addition to) and the verb εἰμί (to be). Its literal sense is 'that which is present or added,' which shifted over time to mean a favorable quality someone possesses, a plus point. The plural form προσόντα became the standard modern Greek word for job qualifications.
