Etymology
σόου is a 20th-century loanword taken wholesale from English 'show' and used as an indeclinable neuter noun. English 'show' descends from Old English scēawian 'to look at, display', from Proto-Germanic *skawwōną, traced to a PIE root meaning 'to perceive, pay heed to'. By that long detour the modern Greek borrowing has distant native cognates such as Ancient Greek κοέω 'to perceive'.
