Etymology
Romanian "aminti" is built from the prefix a- attached to "minte" (mind), which comes from Latin "mens, mentis." The verb literally means to bring something back into the mind. Latin "mens" in turn goes back to the Proto-Indo-European root *men-, "to think," a root that also gave English "mind" and "mental."
