Etymology
Romanian borrowed "duș" from French "douche" during the 19th century, when Romanian vocabulary absorbed many French terms for modern conveniences. French "douche" itself came from Italian "doccia", meaning a water pipe or spout. The word entered Romanian essentially unchanged in sound, adapted only in spelling.
